Metal tastes

Ok not sure if this is normal or why its happening?

I am 3 days post op and i taste like metal. I was eating and licked my finger and it tasted like there was a chemical on it. I washed my several times and get rid of the taste. Now i feel numb in my mouth and my husband says i smell like metal. Does any of this sound right? Anyone with similiar experiences, what do i do?

Have you started taking any new medicines or new Vitamins? That is the most common cause.

Other causes are heartburn/stomach issues or jaundice which you could identify easiy if they were the cause.

In addition to any new meds or vitamins, it may be caused by ketosis. I had a metal taste in my mouth that lasted about three days starting in my pre-op diet when I was on high protein/low carb.

i too had metal taste in my mouth when i was on liquids..lasted for couple weeks then went.. im sure its to do with the sudden change of diet ?
