So Confused about what I should do...............

Ok, this is my story(Sorry if it's too long for some of you ) I have been researching the LapBand for well over a year now and finally decided to go to the doctor and see if I would even get approved for it and I did. I went to see my Surgeon for the first time and he said the only one he would do for me is the LapBand since I am young and very healthy. Im just overweight is all. He sent in my referral for my Psych Eval(Per Insurance Request), So I have to go for that as well. Here is where my problem comes in...................It took so long for them to get my referral sent in for the Psych Eval, that my husband and I had plenty of time to discuss it all and we had made up our mind to have another baby(Since it would be paid for by Tricare and he would be getting out of the Air Force in 21 months and don't know if we could get it paid for as a civilian). Anyways, 2 DAYS after deciding to bring another little one into our lives, I found out I finally got approved for my Psych Eval, and that was all I needed from my insurance in order to get the LapBand. After seeing that I was approved, I had sooooo many things going through my mind at once and I all of a sudden didn't know if I wanted to go through with having a baby or go ahead and get the LapBand now instead of waiting until after I have a baby. Also, my mother no longer wants to me to have the LapBand, because she is afraid of some things "She has heard about it". She keeps pushing for me to have a baby now instead of getting the LapBand, but Im so afraid if I dont get the LapBand now that something will happen after I have a baby and I wont be able to get the LapBand.:tt2: But then again, nothing may happen after having a baby and I can go ahead and get the LapBand. Im so sorry if this has confused any of you. I wouldn't even bother anyone with this, but I have NOONE to talk to about this. I have talked to my husband about it, but he just keeps telling me to do what I think I should do, but thats just it.........I DON'T KNOW!!!!:) Thank You in advance for all of your help and opinions. I truly do appreciate it more than you will ever know.

I heard after having the LapBand done that you should wait 2 years to have a baby? Is this true? Or has anyone gotten pregnant soon after getting the LapBand done? Did everything turn out ok? Cuz if so, that may just solve my problem!! LOL

hi longingtobeloser (stephanie)

I seen one girl's progress after the lapband on you tube, she got pregnant 3 months after and see was fine. they can take all the fill out while you are pregnant. since you are so young though, maybe you should have another baby first and then try to lose the weight. anyway i can't remember the girls name on "you tube" buy I found it by just entering lap band surgery in the search feild.

hope this helps, take care.
