Sleep Apnea

I couldn't be more annoyed. Four months ago I took the written exam for possibly having sleep apnea (along with the myriad of other tests).

Long story short -- I asked twice if I was "OK" with the apnea thing. Since I had heard about every other test and nothing on this. The office assistant was too lazy to look and said "If you haven't heard, then you're good.".

Guess what!?! Today they think I have sleep apnea and I need to do a sleep over for more analysis. My surgery is next week!!!!

Do the sleep apnea results postpone surgergy or just change what the anesthesiologist does????

Hi I have sleep apnoea too. I stop breathing 100 times per hour. I use a CPAP machine. Having sleep apnoea did not affect me being able to have the surgery but it did change the hospital I am having the op done in. I also have to take my CPAP machine with me to hospital.

Jack I'm so glad to hear you don't need to use CPAP anymore - that's what I'm looking forward to.

I went to the Doctors yesterday for headachs and now they think I have sleep apnea too! It freaked the heck outa me becuase my brother has had it for years and years and I do not want to sleep with that machine. They are sending me for a sleep consult. I honestly dont think I have it though. My husband says I never gasp for air in the middle of the night I just snore haha but I snore because I gained so much weight, hence the reason I am looking intot he lap band.

So now that I went on and on haha I feel your pain!
