Finally did it!!!

Hello out there.

I finally got banded on October 30, 2008.

Both my daughter and I went in for the procedure. We both tipped the scales at 299lbs. I am hoping this is life changing for our bad eating habits. So far so good!

Anyone from the Chicagoland area???

Hi, and congratulations! I live in Chicago, and am awaiting approval for the surgery from my insurance company. I've been preparing and going through the steps since April, and have fingers crossed that everything will go through this month and I'll hopefully be scheduled for surgery before the end of the year.

I wish you and your daughter all the best of luck!

Congrats:tongue: The Lapband is such a great weight loss tool. What stage of are you on...mushy foods????? Well good luck to the both of you.

Thanks for your support. I'm hoping to have a great result with this. We are still on the liquids stage, sunday we go to mushy foods. Looking forward to that because liquids don't keep you filled!

I hope everything goes well with you procedure. It's not bad at all. Took the pain meds just once. It feels like you over did the abs workout, so not bad at all. 6 days and pain free!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

We're still on liquids, Sunday is the day for mushy foods, can't wait!!!

Did you get it done and if so, how much have yoou lost and in what amount of time?

Thanks for your support, it's all welcomed!

I was banded on 9-9-08. On my first fill six weeks later I had lost 33 pouns. Some weeks I haven't lost weight at all so I am only weighing myself once a week now. I go in for my second fill Nov. 17th. My goal is to have lost 50 pounds by then, to have my BMI in the 30's and to lower my percentage of bodyfat. I find exercise and water really help with the weight loss. :smile2:

Good luck to all of you. I was banded yesterday (11/4/08) and at the time tipped the scales at 267lbs. I am feeling a little tired today and a little nervous. I am not hungry but so far have only gotten 16 ounces of water down today. I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder which they attributed as gas. I can't drive for a week and go in for my first pre-op visit on Monday (11/10/08). I am looking at this as a tool and would like to succeed. I have a great support system at home and some of my friends recently had gastric bypass done.

I'm so happy for you....CONGRATS!!!!

I'm also happy you responded, i had been having pain in my left shoulder and couldn't figure out why, you cleared that up for me, THANKS!

I really found that putting a heating pad on your stomach or port side in the begginnning helped the muscle heal and allowed me to be able to get up and walk around more. The gas pain goes away in a couple of days and walking really seems to relieve some of that pain:smile2: Good luck to all of you keep up the good work!
