  1. Hi Linda:redface: My real name is Mindy...the chicken soup unjury was really good, I forgot all about that one:rolleyes: Yes, hopefully we will be able to meet at the support groups, it is so nice to be able to talk with people who have experienced the same thing! I haven't met anyone else at the clinic that uses this forum, but I haven't asked either:tongue: Daniellevaughn- so have you been banded for over a year and a half? Have you been successful with your weightloss? I am kind of at a plateu, I have only lost two pounds in a month so I am getting frustrated:cursing:
  2. Wow, what a small world:redface: I absolutely love everyone in the clinic, they are so nice and helpful. I have went to two support group meetings and hopefully will be able to attend more. Walking, ice, a heating pad, and getting all my waterand protein really helped me after surgery. Are you going to take a protein supplement? I suggest unjury (chocolate) it was the best...I mixed it with the 25 calorie packets of hot coco:redface::thumbup::redface:
  3. I was banded at the same hopital you are going to! My doctor was Cahalan. Are you excited or nervouse? I was both but I am really glad I went through with it:tongue::wink2::tongue:
  4. I have tired it and really liked it....I would yell at the T.V when he was making me do squats...lol...your post made me want to try it again!
  5. That would be an awesome Christmas present!!!!
  6. I use the Wii Fit for strength training and yoga. I do it after I do cardio every other day. I really like it, I didn't think yoga or strenght training would help at all but after I get done I can really feel a difference. I would like to get DDR too!
  7. What was the title of the DVD, I bet she kicked butt:tongue::tongue::tongue: I just went to the doctor for my second fill yesterday and have lost 45 lbs and my percentage of body fat went down 8 percent. I was so proud of myself and I know the weight lose has a lot to do with exercise:biggrin: I ended up being able to jog for 13 minutes yesterday ( I know not a huge number but I was never able to jog before) Thanks for motivating me to exercise more:thumbup::thumbup:
  8. I am up for the challange:redface: I am doing cardio six times a day and the wii fit for yoga and strength training three times a week, but I want to increase the time that I spend on the wii fit b/c it works out muscles that I haven't worked on for a LONG TIME! I am trying to learn to jog and am on the second week...I have to jog two minutes walk one minute, we will see how that goes tonight:confused: My body is definetly not use to jogging!!!!
  9. Kmorrow, that has to be very frustrating...do you have to wait another few weeks for a fill or your doctor won't give you any more fills at all? Are you still sticking to your eating plan or is it hard since you don't have restriction?
  10. I was banded on 9-9-08. I had my first fill six weeks later 10-20--08. So far I have 3 cc in a 10 cc band with little to no restriction. I go in for my next fill on 11-17-08. My docotr said it might take him three more times to find the "sweet spot" but right now I could eat ANYTHING if I let myself. I stick to the rules that the doctor said...Protein first, water (try to have at leat 80 oz a day no more than 100 oz), exercise, and NO snacking. So far I have lost a little over 40 pounds but can't wait until I have a little restriction to help with the hunger:angry_smile:

That outdoor game sounds fun... Man my Christmas list is filling up with all these fun wii games (that even will include exercise) Can't wait until Christmas:tongue::tongue:
  12. When I am walking or jogging I sometimes have pain on the right side (port side). I think this is due to the fact that the port was sewn into the muscle and when we are working that muscle really hard it will hurt like any other muscle. I asked my doctor about this and he said that the occassional pain was normal. If you are having pain all the time it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it:confused:
  13. I really found that putting a heating pad on your stomach or port side in the begginnning helped the muscle heal and allowed me to be able to get up and walk around more. The gas pain goes away in a couple of days and walking really seems to relieve some of that pain:smile2: Good luck to all of you keep up the good work!
  14. I was banded on 9-9-08. On my first fill six weeks later I had lost 33 pouns. Some weeks I haven't lost weight at all so I am only weighing myself once a week now. I go in for my second fill Nov. 17th. My goal is to have lost 50 pounds by then, to have my BMI in the 30's and to lower my percentage of bodyfat. I find exercise and water really help with the weight loss. :smile2:

Is DDR hard to get the hang of if you have never played it? I love dancing but I am worried that I wouldn't understand how the game works and get frustrated. Let me know your thoughts!!!!
