Yes ! I Have experienced the rib pain also on my left side. I had surgery 10/24/08. I think it might be from gas. What helped me is taking gas ex extra strength.

Yep--I have pain under my ribs on my left side. Also, some numbness in my back on the left side. I had my surgery on October 7th. My doctor says the back pain is from the abdomial nerve being cut and the rib pain is from gas. I have really bad gas and I assume it is not the gas from the surgery since it has been almost four weels. My upper abdomen is still quite bloated, so I assume when the bloating gets better the rib pain will go away.

It's gas--- I had the same thing on my left side-- random pains- from mild to searing (like it would be better to slice open my gut to release the pain). It's always best to consult your doc but that is what mine were. After like 3 weeks it went away completely.

Hang in there!

I have rambling pains as well. I've had both shoulder blades, spine, ribs, top of shoulder all the way up back of neck to behind ear - either side! The pains go from feeling like I've caught a slight chill in my bones to someone sticking a knife in me. Thankfully, they are receding. I've taken de-gas (gas ex to you I think) and done a lot of laying down. It seems to help.
