Banded 10/06/08

Hello all,

My name is Bianca. I received my lap band on 10-06-08. I am going through a bottle of emotions right now. I didn't do well the first out and I hope that I am going forward in positive way. I hope this forum will help me to stay focused as I reinvent Bianca.

Congrats on getting banded!! This is the place to come 2 when u have question sor just need some support!! Good luck on ur journey things will get better i started feeling better 2 weeks after surgery..im 5 weeks out and it doesnt even feel like i had surgery i get my 1st fill next week so ill let u know how it goes...best wishes

it will get better. i was banded on july 8 2008, and my first four days was hell. due to my issues with T3's i was but on a pain killers other then vixadon, well i had a reaction to the pain med, the band was tight (4 1/2 cc), and the swelling became too much. and one day it got really bad i couldn't keep water down let alone anything else including pain killers. i was up cry all night from the pain till the next morning when i went to my doctors and they pulled out 2 cc as soon as it was removed i felt insetly better, they also changed my med to exlior ( the liqued vixadon) it has been 3 months and one week and i have lost 35 lbs, my kneens are soo much better, i have lost 2 and half dress sizes, and i can dance with out running out of breath. it may seem like hell right now i will not lie, but when you go to the doctors for your adjusments and the tell you how much you have lost it seems worth it. also just so you know if you want to go for fast food get a kiddy meal, they don't take the medical card you got that says " MEDICAL REQUEST TO FOOD SERVICES PROVIDERS". A kiddy meal is the right portions and is cheaper. sit food joints will take the card. be carefull of yeasty breads, milk, and acidy foods like tomatos, they may go down painfully. if you ever want to talk i will be here.
