New...

Hey,

My name is Katie and I am brand new to all of this.

My doctor and I have been discussing lap banding this past summer and I have decided to go ahead with it. I am hoping to schedule my surgery in the middle of December.

Honestly, I am terrified. It's a lot to deal with.

But I have a genetic spinal disease that makes exercise hard and I have been struggling with my weight for most of my life. So this seems like the best chance I have to deal with my health issues and have the normal life I have always dreamed of.

So yeah... that's me.

I am glad I found you guys.

what a process..... but a new life is just ahead!

Getting your mind wrapped around this thing, I believe, is one of the first steps....... so Congratulations!!!

Keep a positive attitude and take one day at a time!

Have a great day!

CONGRATS on taking a step closer to a healthier life. :dita: I have not been banded yet but I will be soon enough. It took me a long while to decide too but I don't doubt my decision. This is just a tool to help with the weight loss process. I know that it will not be easy but it will all be worth it in the end when I reach my goal! I wish you luck on your journey and I am glad you found us too! This site is WONDERFUL!

Again, good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome to a really great site, full of wonderful people with tons of experience and advice to share. I to have a problem with exercise, I have Osteogenesis Imperfesta (OI). I'm getting older and its not getting any better. My health suffers from lack of activity from the breaks and surgeries, but mistly from the weight thats come with each. I decided it was time to do something about it. I haven't been banded yet, but I have lost a few pounds, and those few made me even more sure I want to go the distance. I can feel the difference in the loss already, I can only dream of what it will be like when I reach my goal weight. Good luck, I'm glad you found us!!
