  1. Hey... So I am looking for a mentor, preferrable someone close (but online support is wonderful too). I am brand new to this whole thing and it's really frightening. I am still learning about the procedure and talking with my doctors - but we are tossing around the middle of december as a date for my surgery. I am 32. I returned to college after taking time off. I have around 150-200 lbs to lose but mostly I just want to feel better and be able to move around easier. I have a genetic spinal disease that makes mobility difficult sometimes, but dropping the weight will really help me deal with my back better. So yeah.. that's me. I would greatly appreciate anyone who wants to support me through this. Katie*
  2. Hey, My name is Katie and I am brand new to all of this. My doctor and I have been discussing lap banding this past summer and I have decided to go ahead with it. I am hoping to schedule my surgery in the middle of December. Honestly, I am terrified. It's a lot to deal with. But I have a genetic spinal disease that makes exercise hard and I have been struggling with my weight for most of my life. So this seems like the best chance I have to deal with my health issues and have the normal life I have always dreamed of. So yeah... that's me. I am glad I found you guys. Katie*
