August 27, 200817 yr I had surgery Monday and I am still unable to feel my port. I am starting to get worried about it because if the doc can't feel it then I have to go in and get an upper GI, and I don't want that at all. Has this ever happen to anyone else???
August 27, 200817 yr I wouldn't worry about it. You still have a lot of swelling. I don't think I could easily feel mine until about two weeks out. Also as you lose and the fat on your abdomen diminishes, it will be easier and easier to feel. I can feel mine very distinctly and easily without trying now.
August 27, 200817 yr Don't worry. I can't feel my port site. But I went in for my first fill on Friday, they found it right off the bat, no problem at all. As you lose weight, the port will be easier to find.
August 27, 200817 yr Doctors are just a little bit smarter than us :] Try to not be so stressed. It can prevent weight loss. You should be fine. Good luck!
August 27, 200817 yr Yup, don't worry. With the swelling, and body fat you may just not be able to feel it like he will be able to. My first go around with my port, I had to lay flat on my back, tense my muscles, and contort my legs funny--to get it to poke up. But my doc knew this, and told me exactly what to do!
August 27, 200817 yr Author Thanks you all for your responses. I won't worry anymore about it since you have all been down the same road. Thanks again!
