I am new to this website, it's great!! I have started researching WLS since February 2008. I finally have my first "intake" appointment in a couple weeks to start my journey towards the Lapband.

I am here to learn from others and hopefully make some friends along the way!!

It sounds like things worked out well for u!! I am glad.. for u..

What type of work do u do?? If u dont mine me asking do u have chidren ? Are u married??

As for me I do work for a doctor's office as an office manager, and I am married for 7 years now , I have a 19 year old son who is my life.

I am hoping that they will keep me grounded and help me through this. They are everything to me and my husband is also doing his own research to figure out what I will be going through so that is nice.

I work as a Clinic Management Specialist ( manager) in a Pediatric dental clinic. How funny...so I pretty much sit on my ass all day trying to keep this clinic a float. I'm married... 2 years (tired already) I think I was ment to be single because I've been single for so long. I have a 12yr old going on 30. He just started the 7th grade last Thursday:scared2:. And I'm just trying to enter my 40ies looking young and feeling young...And most definitly being FABULOUS:lol: Which by the way will be next April. Wow! I knew there was a reason why we click.

I think that is neat we both have only one child, I am 38 for got to tell u,. I want to be healthier especially since I too an getting older. SO I can at least try to look a little sexy LOl.

I sit on my butt here too all day, I work part time to at a convience store sat/sun so I work 7 days a week and have for 2 years. I occasionally ask for a day off on the weekend though and so that is ok. My husband wants me to quit it after my suregery but I will wait and see I love the money thought it is nice not to be broke LOL

I feel like u tired of being married alreay but he is good to me and I do love him.. so I will keep him

I'm from Kansas City, MO. My Grandmother and the rest of the elder were born and raised in Texas. So sometimes I may sound like I'm from Tyler, TX but I was born, raised and still live in Kansas City. But I love me some TX thats my family roots. They came from a small town in Texas that don't exit anymore. We also think a like when it comes to wanting to be sexy. And when it comes to money. My husband claims that's why he has to work so hard because in his words "I luv money":biggrin2: and he's right I do. Wow! We have somethings in common. Now I know you join the Women of color forum. But let me ask you (and it dosen't matter to me just curious) are you white or black or other:blush: You're mad cool in my book already.

That is neat to know u are from my neck of the woods so to speak !!

I am not black but I do love black people , I was raised around them, and also my husband is black since u asked as well as my son being half black he is a nice looking young man my son that is LOL

My sister is married to a black man , my niece has a little girl who is so beautiful who is half black. so see we are not prejudice. we love all colors.

thanks for excepting me for who I am u some people still arent ok with interacial stuff so I dont let it be know cuz some people are against it , but to me it should be to each his/her own. !!

That was the women of color forum.

But anyway who am I to judge. But I'm not going to lie. I use to have that same hang up, because usually the black men that I met who had a white woman always had a negative attitude towards black women. They were always trying to put black women down. That's my only hang up if you going to be with another race I rather hear you say you do it because you fell in love or because that's your preference. Not because you think so negative about the women in your own race. One person doesn't represent a whole race.

If that man has a child with his (white) wife or girlfriend he passes that negativity on to the children. Who sometimes grow up being confuse and not able to relate with a race that they are a part of. Which is sad especially if that child is a girl. How do you think that a interacially mix little girl feels about herself knowing this is what her father thinks of black women.

If it's done out of love and your children are being raise well balanced and is taught to embrace their ethnicity on both sides then I say more power to you and I wish you well. I have enough going on in my life than trying to run and judge someone else's life. Only a miserable person goes around trying to make other people sad and miserable, and Miss Becky I'm not one of them...so you be happy with your family and all the love. You can't worry about what people think (and I'm not saying that you are) that will drive you crazy:scared2: Peace:redface:

How was ur weekend?? Mine was ok I am tried as u know I have 2 jobs so I am draggin today LOL.

I didnt tell u my race I am mexican , all I said was I wasnt black or white LOL I am loca,. HAHA.

I did fall in love with the black race, as I said being brought up around them to be honest with u I saw no color no difference in my friends that lived across the street sure I new they were different and we ate tortillas but they did too when they came over as I would try their food too. Their families were so nice to us. We helped each out one another it was fun,. I do understand what u are saying about black guys downing black woman but I am sure that happends in every race. But we as humans come in all colors , shapes (as we know this ) and yet underneath we are all THE SAME !!!!!!!

enough on that how is ur day going?? Mine is ok trying to bill out some insurance companies and appealing the ones that dont want to pay.. a headache..

I'm fine my weekend was too short as always. I probably ate to much I can't wait for my first fill Sept. 12th. Life is so different after the band. I can't wait until you get your band...Have you heard anything yet. Girl I watch this program on tv called "The Secret Lives Of Women" and the episode that I watch was about extreme weight loss. Two of the women highlighted on the program had Lapbands and let me tell me they lost a hell of a lotta weight. It was crazy. Just think Becky that could be us next year. I'm so excited. I know you'll be excited once you're banded. Then we can do this together.LOL

Yes I have watched that show it has some crazy things on some times about woman dating men in prison, women who are in prison and other things. I watch alot of Lifetime, WE womans channel. That is good, So tell me again when u had it done and how much have u lost if any?? are u saying u are getting hungry alot??

I am nervous, But alot of people are like u can do a diet now once u have that operation u are like that for life ........... I dont know what to day I am tired of all the negative things .. but i have kept my head high and well ignore them for now LOL
