i know this is the right thing to do. It took me 1 year to come this far. I have gone to the seminar and called the insurance company. They do not require the diet for 6 months. I also have an appt witht the dr for the referral but I think I should call and make the evaluation appointment. so confused.

my ins also didnt require the 6 month pre op and i had my surgery very quickly. you will be so glad you did it but dont regret til day 15... the first 10 days fome were horrible tired sore and general ick. but once day 10 hit it was awesome!!!!

so-should I call to make the appt for the evaluation or wait until I see the dr for the referral? How much have you lost and how much do you want to lose?

find out if your ins requires a referal from your pcp.

i have only been banded 3 weeks and have not had any fills and have lost 17 pounds.

my insistions are all healed.

i started out at 295 down to 278 goal is 175

I have not yet had the surgery. But I have went through the psyc. consult and now doing the dietician consult. I guess I am just waiting on the evals to go back to my Dr. and then be sent to the Ins. company. I hope I get approved.:)

My Dr sent me for the psyc and dietician eval. I also think my insurance requires it.

Hello!

It took me about a year to come around to the decision to have the surgery - which I had one week ago today! I am very glad I decided to do it - I have about the same amount to loose as you - and had to do the 6 month weight loss challenge to get my insurance to pay for it - which I did and lost 45 lbs prior to surgery.

Wherever you're having surgery they should be able to tell you exactly what the steps are and who you need to see when. We all only do this once in our lives - they do thousands - so they know!

Since the surgery a week ago I've lost another 10 lbs - and am still on a liquid diet for another week. Feel free to reach out to me with any other questions or concerns you have - and congratulations on taking these steps to better health!

All my best!
