Taking Pills?

I am three weeks post-op and my doctor has told me that I can take pills now because I keep getting sick from chewables.

Has anyone else started taking pills in place of Multivitamins, Calcium, pain relievers?

I just want to make sure this is really okay. Multivitamins are rather large and I am afraid it will get stuck.

I haven't been banded yet, but I lurk the boards nearly constantly! Try liquid Tylenol for the pain, those chocolate flavored calcium chews, and two flinstone vitamins. Just be sure that you only take one calcium chew at a time, because more than 500 mg won't absorb at once and will just be wasted.

I am filled to 3.5 cc's at the moment and take a regular multi-vitamin, a B complex supplement, and an Effexor tablet every morning with no problems. And yes, my doctor does know and has no problem with it as long as I don't.

According to my doctor you have to take 2 multivamins and 2 calcuim a day.

The reason for the pills is because liquid and chewables make me sick. Which is not good once banded.

Another big no no is flintstones as they do not provide the same nutritional value as the Multivitamin. Also...just an FYI, I don't eat chocolate, can't stand the smell. I know I am weird.

Citrical makes a calcium citrate and offers it in new petite sizes (read the packaging as they also offer regular sizes/got it at Wal-mart.) It is about half of a regular calium and I have been taking that since banding one week ago and things are fine.

I'm also 3 week post-op. I take everything by pill and they go right down! I take my prescriptions and my Prilosec OTC with no trouble at all. You can always cut them in half if you like with a pill cutter from any drugstore or Walmart.
