Hi! Im in Port Huron..I know they have a support group at the hospital here..I am getting banded tommorow so i dont know to much about the group YET..however..I believe they meet once a month..dont quote me tho..but if u call the hospital u could find out..when and where were u banded??

I suggest the Beaumont Weight Control Center in Royal Oak. There are various support groups, lectures, cooking classes, etc.

Thank you for your responses. I am looking for something in the Downriver Area. i just can't seem to find one. I am going to start calling hospitals in my area. I am also going to ask my DR. If anyone has any info for the Downriver area please let me know....Thanks!

I am from Canton and can't find a support group either. My surgeons office disbanded his due to poor participation and I haven't found another. Why don't we all plan to meet one Saturday morning and start our own group?

Barix Clinics has a group in Ypsilanti. You might also try Henry Ford Wyandotte- I know they have a bariatric program, don't know about a group.

HI there. I'm from Canton. Would love to chat. Have not been banded yet. I've been looking into it for some time now. I have my doctors appt this Friday to hopefully move forward!

I have my appointment with my PCP on Friday. I called my insurance Blue Care Network HMO and asked what criteria has to be met. They mailed me the

policy and according to what I read, I should qualify. The closest hospital

to me in Downtown Henry Ford. I'm just waiting to see what my doctor says

and hopefully get this ball rolling. I'm getting anxious and excited at the same

time. I really want to turn my life around and be happy once again! What steps have you taken? Tell me about yourself!!
