I just got home from the hospital. I was banded yesterday. I feel EXTREMELY SWOLLEN AND BLOATED and it hurts to sit up, lay down, and try to sit up from laying down. The dilaudid isnt helping at all.

I think that is pretty normal. When they do any kind of laproscopic surgery they fill your belly with gas to give them room to work. Walking seems to help move the gas out, either up or down(ha ha)

I had my surgery on 4/2 and I felt like that for about a week. The burping gets better and the swolleness goes away. I feel great and back to working 50 hours a week. I felt tried for the first few weeks, but I'm better now.

Good Luck it's worst it. I'm already off one med.:cool2:

i went back to work 8 days after surgery at my sit down job... i felt like a lot of my swelling had went away but i notice now that i have my "big girl" clothes on my right abdomen gets swollen by the end of the day... hopefully it gets better!
