Some what new here

Hi everyone. I've been on this site many times in the past two months, but I have never really introduced myself. I started the lap banding process 2 months ago. I am now on the final stages. I am going for my pe-op testing tomorrow 4/21 at NYU. My tenitive surgery date is 5/5 and Dr. Ren is doing my surgery. My doctors office does not feel I'll have any problems with insurance approval. Everything has happened rather smoothly and quickly. Thanks to this site and all the people that participate within it I am not even very nervous about the procedure or the aftermath of surgery. I am looking forward to all the difficult and joyous changes. I thank you all for all the support I have recieved through reading all your concerns, joys, and hand holding that is so honestly represented here.

Congrats on being in the last stages of pre-op. For me, that was the most nerve-racking time. I was nervous about everything. I think, once you're banded everything is much easier! Keep us posted on your progress.

I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Ren -- sounds like you are in great hands for this surgery.

Hope to be seeing you around here long term!

I have a question about NYU--how long did you have to wait for a surgery date after your consult with Dr. Ren. I have an appt for my consult in about 3 weeks. Thanks.

Thanks to all for your words of support. i just came back from my pre-op and all went well.

WSW27 I saw Dr. Ren April 15th and got my date for pre-op, April 21, and Surgery, May 5th. It all went very quickly.

Thanks for the info and good luck to you. Keep us posted about your progress. My app't is May 15--seems so far away. Hopefully, all will proceed quickly for me too. I am so ready for the next step.
