Double check your intake for the Medifast. I get 5 shake/MF meals per day and one meal of mostly protein and veggies that are on the list. Make your shakes with lots of crushed ice and eat or drink every 2.5 to 3 hours. You can also have some SF Jello and make sure you are drinkly lots of water. Hang in there!

Bet I can make you feel better.

I'm on my two-week (actually 15 days!) pre-op diet and I get skim milk.

That's it!

No Protein drinks, no lean meal.

One gal who's done this said she also did chicken and beef boullion, but per the doc, skim or 1% milk ONLY.

I'm on day one (long day, since I work night shift) and I'm wondering how I'm going to make it 14 more days.

You can do it! It's such a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things. It gets easier after about the 4th day, too, once you've broken the carb addiction. Those first few days, I was about to eat one of my children, but it got easier once the withdrawals passed.

I don't have to follow a pre-op diet, but I am doing the slim fast thing on my own just so I can try to lose a few lbs before surgery on monday. i started yesterday, and my stomach gnawed my backbone all day long. All the shakes did was to lessen the gnawing to a nibble for 30 minutes or so.

but, to make you all feel better about your diets, my post-op diet is liquids for 6 WEEKS (Clear Liquids for the first 2 weeks), mushies for 2 weeks. So I won't touch real food for 2 months. that's a long time.

I am on day 2 of my pre op diet. 5 shakes and nothing else. Last night I broke down and had some steamed broccoli to fill me up before bed or I would not have been able to sleep.

Well Ive lost 5.5 lbs! But I have cheated here and there. Las night I ate 10 frosted mini-wheats

Wow Dr.s really are different on their pre-op diet instructions!!!! I dont have it too bad huh!

I am on my preop diet right now actually on day 3 and I am about ready to eat a few coworkers lol. All I am allowed to have is a slimfast shake for breakfast and lunch and a 350 calorie dinner thats it. And I am HUNGRYYYYYYYY. But I have lost 3 pounds already.

you can do it! Make sure to get your protein in every 2-3 hours and you shouldn't be too hungry. i get 3-4 protein shakes a day and clear liquids, water, broth etc. for two weeks and i haven't been hungry at all...head hunger for the first three days almost kicked my butt though.

My sons karate instructor said that he went 39 days without food just drinking Water and on about day 6 he wasn't really hungry anymore...

I tried those shakes at walmart the generic ones just to help lose some before the surgery because my surgeon said I didn't have to do a preop diet if I lost 10 pounds! But those are actually good I am not kidding... But even tho I am not hungry after drinking one I am trying to keep from thinking of real food like stuff you chew thats my problem

Hi I hope your surgery goes well and that you will lose all the weight that you have been wanting to lose. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing.

Hi and please spare your co-workers. So when is your surgery date? I hope your surgery goes well and you lose lots of weight. I am going to the Lap Band seminar on April 7, and I really do want the surgery and I too have lots of weight to lose.
