Protein Calculations

Good Morning,

I am 9 days post op and have started purées. I’m trying to track my protein but I’m getting confused. This morning I made one pack of butter grits, with 1/2c Fairlife milk, and 1/2 scoop of isoprene protein powder. When you add that up it comes to 21 G protein. If I eat 2 oz how much protein did I eat?

  • Total Ounces 5.5 divided into the number of grams of protein at 21 is 3.81g per ounce, so you ate about 7.5g

  • I use the lose it app, you can create recipes and let it do the calculations for you.

You would need to measure the total amount before you ate.

1/2c of milk is 4oz, 1 pack of grits is 1oz and 1/2 scoop protein powder is 1/2 oz so total 5.5oz of prepared grits

Total Ounces 5.5 divided into the number of grams of protein at 21 is 3.81g per ounce, so you ate about 7.5g
