New here! April 17th for RNY…liquid diet starts April 3rd

Couple of us are the 17th too! Luckily I’m not a liquid diet. Mine is an 800 calorie food based diet. Today’s the start of a new adventure for us! Good luck ?

I will be sleeved April 28. My pre-op diet is odd. 2 weeks of a morning protein shake (my choice as long as its 25-30 grams of protein). Both lunch and dinner can only be a Healthy choice brand Steamer select or Cafe steamer Meal.

All you April 3rd peeps, how are you feeling!!!! I am surprised at how little pain I have.

Tomorrow is the big day! I am ready!

Day 4 of the pre op diet and hoooo boy the headache and insomnia is for realsies!

I hear. My headache went away on day 10. Gatorade was a lifesaver.

I am scheduled for April 10th! I’m having the bypass.
My surgery date was bumped from 04/17 to 04/26. I was pretty upset for about 15 minutes but the surgeon had to reschedule his day. I had just started the liquids that morning and when I got off the phone with the coordinator I made myself eggs with avocado and hot sauce. I like having the extra sets to prep myself mentally and gather my proteins and liquids. So, onward and upward for the 26th!

My insurance just decided yesterday that they want to do an additional medical review and that they will let me know THE DAY BEFORE my surgery (4/14) if I am approved. I’m already on day 5 of the liquid diet and this seems unethical to do to someone.

3 days post op & I feel good! Some minor gas pains but WALKING DEF HELPS!! Just saw my Primary & says I can drive as long as Im not taking any narcotics, which I’m happy say I don’t need! I see my surgeon next week.

I did it! Had my lap sleeve surgery yesterday and can proudly say that I survived. I did feel nauseous afterward and until I went to sleep last night. But today the nausea does seem to be gone. Also, since they inflate the belly for the laparoscopic work, the gas pains were insufferable. I sent my husband out to get GasX and it was a lifesaver. Highly recommend those getting the lap sleeve to make sure you have GasX too. Good luck!
