I'm having so much pain it's my second day I could only do Water I regret it so much . Does it get any better ?

Sent from my SM-A516U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi, I am 4 days out now and every day is a little better than the previous one. If you doc gave you pain meds, take those. Don't try to white knuckle it. I think I only had Water my first two days. Then I tried warm chicken broth and that went down a lot easier than the water.

Hope you feel better asap.

I'm only 10 days out from VSG and it really does get a little better every day. Plain Water hurt worse that one of the Gatorade zero type drinks - not sure why. As everyone else will tell you, sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk! Good luck - you've got this!

I didn't have that much nausea so I can't answer that. I wouldn't think so. Did your Dr. not give you something for nausea? I am so sick of Protein Shakes so I can sympathize. I end up drinking more of the Protein waters. But, I have been using my Ninja Bullet to make more of a milkshake. I use Isopure (flavorless) Protein Powder, unsweetened almond milk, ice and then flavor it using sugarfree flavorings. It really makes it much easier for me to get them down. I'm sorry you are still dealing with nausea even after 2 weeks. Maybe reach out to your Dr. for advice.

Thank you for the advice. I will try making my own shakes. It seems like I get nauseated after forcing down the terrible Protein Shakes. I’m still in the liquid stage and I must get in at least 80 grams per day.

Lots of us have nausea, We have smaller stomachs but still have the same amount of stomach acid inside. You need the correct amount of nausea meds for you. I still need mine twice a day and have to watch for eating too late because of GERD.

You can let your shakes down with milk or Water, heat or cool them. Just find what is acceptable to your stomach and does not go against anything your team advocates. I was able to make my own shakes with milk, milk powder, fruit and sugar free Peanut Butter.

I discovered that I am sensitive to whey Protein. After I figured that out, I have been much less nauseated. I also have an aversion to sucralose. So, the nutritionist pointed me to Orgain products. Good luck. Try experimenting to see if trying other types of protein and sugar substitutes are easier for you.

I don't know when I reached Onederland but just weighed myself @198. 😁

Constantly amazing myself. This is probably a normal experience for all of us on a WL journey.
This morning I was at 174 pounds (78.9 kilos). I can perceive that my brain hasn't really caught up to this yet, as I still feel obese, even though I am close to being considered a normal weight, not even overweight. The smaller clothes, the higher fitness level, the great blood work results, the energy- these all tell me a totally different story!
I have NEVER EVER been, never, not once in my life, nada, zip, zilch, zero times, been "thin." I think this explains some of the disconnect between the reality of my body and the stuckness of my brain. I do have confidence that my mind will catch up soon ❤️
Not really having the experience of true hunger yet, but I can perceive the peristalsis of my digestive tract. And I am getting very good at spotting head hunger, and simply noticing it, like a Buddhist.

I ordered the Barbecue Protein Crisps here from BariatricPal, and find them quite tasty. The Ranch flavour, not so much. They are very filing and have a satisfying crunch.
I continue to shrink, and am amazed at the changes all over my body. Visually, it is striking to me. In the mirror, I look thin to my eyes, but I don't feel thin, although I can see more bones and veins and tendons and floppy skin. Cardio-wise, It takes a lot more effort to get my heart rate up and I'm now monitoring which heart zone I can get into and for how long. My resting heart rate is the lowest it's ever been.
If I think about it, and I left myself feel it for a time, I weep (like, boohoo cry) with joy. I am so grateful to myself, and proud of myself for having the courage to have taken the leap to better health.
