Sending great vibes your way! You got this!

I’ve never been so happy to eat something mushy! My choices are fat free refried beans, fat free/low fat cottage or ricotta cheese, eggs. I ate beans this morning and it was delightful. ? hope anyone else around my date (5/6) is progressing as well!

?My ESG was 5/6 also, I am still on liquids until day 14. I can’t wait to eat an egg or a bean. Please keep posting your purée options. It really helps

Wasn’t the first bite of beans the best thing ever? My surgery was 5/2 and now I’m having dreams of the purée stage, which comes next week. Lol

Well it’s been a week since my VSG surgery. I started full liquids today. So far it’s been pretty easy. I’ve lost 16 pounds already which is insane to me! I’m starting to get tired of all flavors of Protein Shakes. I’m barley in any pain as well. So far I think I’m doing great!

I had my sleeve on 5/3 and I have done great as well. Struggled a bit at first meeting fluid goal but I am doing better with that except today lol. I had no nausea, no pain after the 3rd day post op, Ive taken no pain medication since my 1 day stay at the hospital. About day 6/7 post op I had to kick the commercial protein shakes to the curb. I gagged on them when I tried to drink them. I choked them down but on day 7 I totally stopped them as I was tired of gagging. I then began making protein smoothies with sugar free whey isolate protein powder in creamy vanilla. I added Silk unsweetened almond milk with my protein powder. Now I have no problem drinking the smoothies I make. I am down 14 lbs in 9 days yay. Since starting the protein smoothies I feel GREAT. The hardest thing Ive had to deal with is the horrific constipation. Yes, I have been on 2 tablets twice daily of Colace every single day and although it may have softened an already hard stool I didnt see much help from it. So 2 days ago I added some much needed natural fiber and finally today I was able to lose 2 lbs of poo ? LMAO ?. I will certainly not allow that to happen EVER again lol.

I am May 2nd. Sunday is my pureed phase.

Hi everyone! I’m new here as well. I am scheduled for gastric bypass on 5/31.
Sleeved yesterday and doing GREAT! My anesthesiologist gave me a nerve block and also put an anti-nausea patch behind my ear that is supposed to last 3 days! So I’ve had zero nausea or vomiting- so far. Pain has been very tolerable after the first 4-5 hrs from surgery. So far I’ve managed to drink water, apple juice and chicken broth without issue. Not much has pain . Feeling very fortunate and looking forward to going home.

My RNY is on the 24th.

Was originally going to get a VSG but after an endoscopy, the doc thinks my GERD is worse on my body than the way I feel about it. Convinced me that I would probably be horrendously suffering from acid if I went with the VSG.

Also going to repair my hiatal hernia and after doing a nuclear scan going to pull out my gallbladder.

Wheeeee....

Started my pre-op diet on the 10th.

I'm jealous of all your pre-op diets. I get two weeks of 20oz non-fat milk 3x a day. 50oz of other liquids a day - water, broth, decaf tea or coffee.

On day five and it's really not all that bad. Doc's literature said this type of diet activated the body's hunger suppresant. And I'm really surprised how.... well, I am hungry, but I'm not as hungry as I would have thought.

Anyway, nervous and excited at the same time. I'm sure you've all felt that same way.
