No interest in eating

Recommended Posts

I'm 13 weeks sleeve post op. Losing 1-2 pounds a week. sleeping well. Feeling well overall. But the thought of chewing and swallowing a meal just turns me off so I don't do it.

Getting plenty of Protein thru Greek yogurt and Protein Shakes and applesauce with added collagen. Some fruit and nuts but no meat. Ugh!

So am I developing an eating disorder or are there others who just don't enjoy food?

Thanks!

most of us lose our sense of hunger after surgery, but for the vast majority, it comes back sometime during the first year. Mine came roaring back at five months out - and believe me, things got a lot more challenging then. It was so easy to lose weight those first five months when I was never hungry and didn't give a flip about food.

enjoy it while it lasts - and take full advantage of it. Yes - it's very common - and almost always temporary. It'll never be easier in your life to lose weight, so milk it for all it's worth!

P.S. I should add that you do need to make sure you're eating enough to meet your nutritional needs -

Perfectly normal at this stage. What I did to overcome this stage was to make myself try something everyday. Some days were successful and some werent the foods that werent i put on the try agsin in a couple of weeks list.

Has anyone had problems with the bariatric miltivitamin? I am struggling to get them down. If they don't make me throw up, they make me feel sick to my stomach!! Does anyone do something different when it comes to vitamins?

Vitamin patches work wonderful. They are some what expensive but the only thing I can use

I take my multivitamin and medications with my first food of the day. If I don’t, I feel ill.
