  1. I'm 66. Scheduled for abdomenoplasty next month and was wondering if I was too old.. if I get 10 years with a flatter tummy, I'm not too old. You have over half your life for a flatter tummy. Do it!
  2. I'm 13 weeks sleeve post op. Losing 1-2 pounds a week. Sleeping well. Feeling well overall. But the thought of chewing and swallowing a meal just turns me off so I don't do it. Getting plenty of protein thru Greek yogurt and protein shakes and applesauce with added collagen. Some fruit and nuts but no meat. Ugh! So am I developing an eating disorder or are there others who just don't enjoy food? Thanks!
  3. Leslie F replied to TRAVELRN's topic in The Gals' Room
    Yes! Exactly!
  4. 13 weeks sleeve post op. A little hair loss just began but that's ok. I am just not hungry. The thought of eating a meal makes me sick to my stomach (literally.) I'm losing 1-2 pounds a week. Sleeping well. Feel fine. But living on greek yogurt and protein shakes and applesauce with added collagen. Oh- some fruit and nuts too. Is this ok or am I developing some eating disorder? Anyone else in the same boat?
  5. Sounds like this is HIS problem. Without knowing him, it sounds as though he's insecure about himself. Advice from an old retired RN- your health comes first. You do YOU.
  6. I used to guzzle it and could get in a gallon day. Sipping? I struggle to get 32 ounces. Any hints?
  7. 5 weeks post sleeve and I've been physically hungry all day. I've not yet felt this. Made a pizza for the teenager and i had 3 bites. It's sitting like the dough ball that it is in my pouch. I feel awful. Lesson learned, i hope!
  8. If you have a Lidl store nearby, they sell Fairlife in gallons!
  9. Hello! I was sleeved a month ago and have stayed on liquids because looking at real food sort of turns me off. No desire at all. I know i cant continue this way. For breakfast, i drink sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast with 1% skim milk. Lunch is soup. Etc I'd like to try real food for breakfast because I'm shaky/ hungry in the morning and would really appreciate your (light) breakfast suggestions. Thanks!
  10. No preop diet. Just clear liquids and a protein drink the night before and the morning of surgery. VSG 9/18 @ Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
  11. Morning Sleepy Sunday! Is there an app that yall like best to track weight loss and BMI (Android?)
  12. Whee!!! You're an inspiration! What weight loss do you like best?
  13. Is there an app that yall like for tracking weight loss?
  14. You can pound quickly!? Not me. I vomit. 16 days and I baby that pouch with baby sips all day.
  15. Throw it right back to them. Say "why do you ask?" They say- because you look so great, so thin, so healthy. You say- thank you! And how are YOU feeling?? It can be a fun cat and mouse game. And frankly, pressuring you is rude and NYB (Not your business.)
  16. I'm in preop waiting and so scared. Not of the surgery but potential complications long term
  17. I'm better now. Ive read so much that im on sleeve overload. Started getting worried about tracking my macros and will i stick with the plan. Reread my booklet from my surgeon etc and they focus on fluids and 60gm protein. So that simplified it for me. 32 year recovering opiate addict so I'm really happy to read that you didnt require narcotics for pain. Huge relief! Tomorrow I'll pack and make a vat of chili so my husband doesn't have to cook and can just with me. I drank almost an entire 2 liter of Pepsi today. I'm really really going to miss that poison! Keep in touch!
  18. Tell us how you're doing! 36 hours till my sleeve so I'd love input- any preop suggestions? Anything you needed at home and didn't buy? Hope you're well!
  19. Settled right in your shoulder? It's the CO2 they used to inflate your belly during surgery. If you have someone there with you, have them burp you as they would a baby, only harder. This too shall pass (i couldn't resist!) Thanks for the update!
  20. Like buyer's remorse? 4 hours of preop clearance yesterday! All set to go in 7 days. Praying for no complications for any of us♡
  21. Like right this very second?? Oh mercy! I'm asking that a flock of angels be surrounding you, as close to you as the air you breathe. Let us know how it went please?! 7 more days for me
  22. Just got your message! Tomorrow or Wednesday? I'm really enjoying being open with my emotions, rather than the standard, "Me? Oh, I'm fine."
  23. It's good to know we'll be done on the same day. Great resource for both us. I'm busy slugging down soda every minute of every day And yes, Spotify always!
