How Long Did you have to wait for surgery

Hi,

I'm a newbie. An impatient newbie at that. I have been on Adipex for 6 years. It worked initially but after my brothers death, I became an emotional eater. I picked up the 52 lbs I lost just doing diet, exercise, and adipex. My back hurts so bad and I can't afford to just lay in bed all day. I have to take care of my parents and myself. I'm a 2 time cancer survivor so I have a little bit on my plate. I'm just curious how long did you have to wait, before being scheduled for surgery. I just need a scope and to talk to the psychiatrist. I hope that being on the Adipex will count for something.

Once I got approved it was 7 weeks. But, I also got my approval the last few days of November 2019 and everyone and their mother wanted to have their surgery in December so they had to schedule mine in January 2020. And the end of January at that! ? For most I thinks it's about 3-4 weeks after approval. Because, you know, the 2 week pre-op diet that most bariatric surgeons require and all... Hope everything goes smoothly for you and you get your surgery soon!

I got approved on March 27th and was scheduled on April 30th. I did have to make the choice to go to Mexico to do it though since my insurance was being crazy and wouldn't approve me unless I did a one year time frame with a nutritionist...then it was still going to cost over what I could afford.

I got my surgery date prior to completing my requirements because they were trying to figure out when I should start a new medication that I couldn’t be on during surgery but it was 2.5 weeks after I satisfied the requirements (16 days of that was pre-op diet).

About 6 months for me. Should have been faster. Partly due to Covid outbreak and also having God forsaken band removed.
