Nausea on the pre-op liquid diet?

I'm almost done with my two-week pre-op liquid diet, but I'm having trouble with nausea. It comes and goes in waves, isn't constant, and doesn't seem to be related to any specific product. I mentioned it to my team and they suggested trying a plant-based protein. I've tried Vega before and HATED it, so I'm not keen on this.

Anyone else have this and figure out the issue? Nerves? Sheer volume of protein? Hunger presenting as nausea?

The team must have thought it was something in the whey-based protein, which makes sense as well. Not sure what else to suggest other than thankfully you're almost done with this. Although it might continue after surgery if it's some kind of food intolerance. In that case, I hope you can figure out what exactly it is pretty soon!

You know, @catwoman7, you may be right about the hunger. Nausea and hunger feel pretty similar these days and if I let it go too long, that’s when nausea hits. It almost feels like low glucose (but it’s not). I drank a shake too quickly while hungry and it bounced back up. Good to keep in mind moving forward ...
In the meantime, I did order Orlean (?) plant-based powder.

I’m struggling with this right now day 2 of full liquid diet surgery date 2/12! Any advice? I’m weak, not hungry, nauseous and shakes. I’m desperate for help!!

I found Orgain to be a decent option. I also found that I really had to dilute the protein powder. I would make a shake with 2 c of water, 6 ice cubes, and 1 serving of protein powder. If I didn’t dilute the shakes, I’d feel nauseous...

Can you have bone broth? It’s makes you feel pretty satisfied. I drank it on my pre op liquid phase.
