August 24th here! Excited but nervous about everything. Hope everyone with the beginning of the month surgery dates are doing well.

August 31st. So excited, been a long road for me to get here.

Vision changes - I had gastric bypass on Thursday. I am doing OK with the pain and no hunger at all. I am near sighted and need glasses to see far away things. I can also read any thing close up with my glasses on. But ever since surgery, I have noticed that when reading or using my phone close up, it is blurry. I remove my glasses and it's clear, but distant items are blurry of course.

Has anyone experienced vision changes after surgery?

That is quite possible especially if you had sugar issues. I would wait at least 90 days as long as nothing major before going to an eye doctor for new glasses. If it seems to be a bigger issue definitely get that checked out. I know my moms glasses needs changed greatly after surgery

August 10th!! I am POD #6!
August 27th for me! And yes I’ve already started the liquid diet- I started it on the 10th as I have hepatic steatosis (fatty liver disease). Day 3 of the preop diet was the worst for me but doing ok now.

My surgery is after tomorrow - August 19th. Nervous and excited at the same time ?

Same here!

My surgery is 8/19. I’m currently on day 7 of my 14 day liquid diet. It has had its moments and yesterday I was super hungry and these shakes just weren’t cutting it so I listened to music and that helped.
I have cheated so many times on this diet and my surgery is the 21st I hope it goes well. I'm going to be strict from now on

Had my vertical gastric sleeve August 10th in California... on week 2 of post op liquid diet... will not lie it has been hard I still have cravings and since yesterday started with nausea dizziness . Today I started vitamins and threw up a few minutes after taking the iron ... not a happy camper rightnow

Mine too! Just went yesterday to the start clinic for presurgery blood and urine testing. Still doesn't feel like this is really happening. I was originally suppose to have the surgery back in March but was put on hold due to covid. How are you feeling about the surgery? Best wishes to you hope all goes well.

Doing good on Optifast liquid and counting down to August 28 surgery date. At present doing well with Bari melts vitamins, and liquids including 48 oz no sugar, no calories along with Optifast shakes. First 2 days was rough, however on the 3rd day till now all is good. Anxious and nervous as I count down on the days. Next week Friday is surgery day.
