Nausea treatment

I’m 3 weeks post op gastric bypass and these past couple of days I have been extremely nauseous. Zofran isnt helping not are those nausea patches they gave me. How did you guys treat nausea post op. Before the operation I’d have ginger ale, and saltines. But obviously those aren’t an option now.

i only started the purée food diet a week ago and have actually put myself back on the liquid diet until my appt on the 27th because I keep having complications (inability to tolerate most foods (severe cramping, vomiting and diarrhea). But now with this nausea I’m struggling to even get in a protein drink or my daily liquid intake. Yesterday I had 20 oz liquid. It’s Sunday so my dr isn’t even in the office.

im 3 weeks too and the only thing I’m eating right now is scrambled eggs and my protein shakes. Mostly anything else makes me super sick. I’m lactose intolerant now and hoping that will go away, but I can tolerate cottage cheese.

I'd call your clinic in the morning. If you can't even keep liquids down, then that's a problem. You're getting to that window of time when people can start getting strictures, so if it's something like that, you'll need to get it fixed. I'm not saying that that's what it is, but if it is, your clinic needs to know about it. You can survive for awhile without food, but not fluids.

Should I call the surgeon or the bariatric primary that saw me? Not sure which one would deal with it

either. If it's a stricture, they'll know how to deal with it. Strictures happen to about 5% of bypass patients, so they've both seen them before.
