What is the recommended dose of magnesium, citrate post op. I have had terrible constipation issues since surgery. I am currently sipping on it but was wondering if I need to drink the whole bottle

I'd start with milk of magnesia first. Mag citrate will blow you out and dehydrate you pretty quickly. Even at half a bottle. The thing to know about milk of magnesia is that, for me at least

  • I’m currently taking half a fibogel sachet morning and night on days I don’t have a bowel movement- seems to be working great.

it's pretty strong - may want to just drink half a bottle first. If that doesn't do the trick, have the rest of it tomorrow. Some people have explosive diarrhea if they get too much of it.

I used a half dose of milk of magnesia twice a day. If I did that then it work but not too much too quickly.

The thing to know about milk of magnesia is that, for me at least, it gives me the gentle suggestion that I might need to go to the bathroom. If I ignore it then it doesn't really remind me again lol.
