All Inclusive Vacation after bariatric surgery

My husband is taking me to Cancun for our Anniversary in November. By that time I will be 6 months out from my VGS surgery. Just wondering if anyone went on an all inclusive vacation after bariatric surgery and how did you handle being surrounded by so much food and alcohol?

You will be fine. I went on a cruise at 7 months, and ate my 6 bites and only had one glass of wine - be careful you are now a 'cheap date' and 'easy drunk' LOL

Just don't push your sleeve or you will barf it back up. Do activities, snorkel, swim, take guided walking tours - use that energy up!!

The portion sizes with most all inclusive are very bariatric friendly.

Just got back, I ate protein. Delicious shrimp, and ceviche. I did drink, but I had vodka and water with a splash of cran or a bloody mary. I didn't gain and really enjoyed what I ate.

I went 3 months post VSG surgery. I made smart food choices - based around protein. I DID drink - but only no carb drinks. I drank vodka with grape Crystal Light that I brought from home - mixed with bottled water. Plus I was in the pool all day so burning more calories than ever. I lost 3 lbs that week!! Good luck - relax - and ENJOY!! ?
