Don't stress my Dr said it's mostly to shrink liver to make surgery safer but if I'm able to lose a few lbs good for me

  • Congratulations!!! I wouldn’t be too concerned. You will most likely see another drop in a day or two . Best of luck on your upcoming surgery!!

Congratulations and wishing you an easy surgery. !

Are you weighing every day?

I believe the pre-op diet is more for shrinking the liver, then for weight loss. Obviously with the reduction of calories, weight loss in inevitable however, look at it more that your liver is shrinking and your body will be in the best condition for surgery.

That is a good mindset. I have been trying to think good thoughts that my liver is shrinking!

It is but the more weight I lose now the easier it will be to get to my goal. Since no matter what I did and couldn't get below 292 I am elated I am now 279.

I did not weigh the first week then after my weekly weigh in I was surprised! I now wake up wanting to weigh. Not sure if it is motivation or not so far. As long as liver is shrinking I am happy! Good luck to you.

Is anyone having trouble following the diet? I’m so hungry and am finding it hard not to eat things I’m nOt supposed to. I’m scared they won’t be able to do surgery. Any suggestions please

Leelee you can do it focus, focus, focus. I am on my 9th day and my strategy was to drink my 2 protein shakes while at work, plus plenty of water, tea and a crystal light. When I get home i eat a small dinner of salad or steam vegetables with 4-6 oz protein. Tomorrow begins my 2 day of only clear liquids and then off to surgery on Monday.

Hang in there!
