I have my surgery this Wednesday (excited and terrified all at once!) I am crossing my fingers that everything will go well and I will be able to come home the next day. The question I wanted to ask is about when would be an appropriate time to start walking my dog. I have an 8 year old Boston Terrier mix named Willow who LOVES LOVES LOVES walks. Prior to the surgery, we walked around the neighborhood for between 30-45 minutes (upwards of an hour.) There are a few hills, but it's generally flat. I don't expect to walk her the day I come back, but would I be okay walking her the next day? I plan on asking my team on Wednesday, but I thought I'd see if anyone here had experience concerning it. I'd like to start walking her ASAP!

Your dog is adorable! Just start slow and see how you feel. I was a little worried because my dog is bigger and tends to pull a bit, but it was fine. I was tired after a few blocks though. In a couple of days I was all good though.

I walked my two doggies the second day I got out of the hospital. Walking also helps with the gas u will have after surgery as well.

My girl pulls a little, but she's only 18lbs so it's not a whole lot of force. We'll take it nice and slow!

you will be walking starting day of surgery. The first few days you might only be able to go to the end of the block and back, for a few min at a time, but no worries by the time the first week is over, you will be up to your 30 min walks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
