That is frustrating! Sounds like an honest omission (doesn't happen very often) or just generally bad administration (happens to most patients).

To give your insurance the chance to catch-up with all of the payments you may have made to other balances? I am only guessing here as I am in the same spot and I have the same issue with my hospital. Mine hit me up for $350 at my first appointment to cover the exercise physiologist, which I did not know about and was kind of mad, but paid it (of course). Then, right before I was approved by insurance, I saw a bill from them for $1400. I've not called my insurance company yet, I plan to do that this week, to see if this is just because of billing and paying time lag by the insurance company. My deductible has been met
They are charging me because there Anesthesia is out of my network I’m sure they knew this a week before surgery
Now I trying to come up with 900.00

I have paid my Surgeon $790(before my first appt with him) and the hospital called and said I would have to pay them $1300, 10 days before surgery... my date is October 15th. The payments will satisfy my Out-Of-Pocket(OOP) expense with my insurance for the year. Once OOP is met, insurance will pay 100% of my medical expenses... for the remainder of this year
