Hi, week out post op, had a staple loose and had blood in my bowls, anyone else deal with this? Also left shoulder pain in the back, how long did it take to heal?

Sent from my SM-S327VL using BariatricPal mobile app

Yikes, that sounds painful, how did the staple go? Is the issue solved? Sorry to hear.

Could the shoulder be gas? They told me that was possible, that gas could be up that far and cause pain. (I think.)

Oh No, I'm sorry about the staple. I hope that's been resolved.

I had should pain for my first week post op and it was definitely gas. I would rub it (like a soft massage) and the gas would slowly escape and I'd feel better. I'm sorry you are experiencing this, hope it gets better.

Shoulder pain for me definitely was from gas. Once I was more careful about simple sugars the excess gas subsided and the pain went away.

I just had surgery on Wed 11/28 and woke up in recovery with severe shoulder blade pain. They told me it was probably gas and to just move a lot. Anytime it starts to bother me I get up and walk a few laps. Walking does not seem to help though. The only thing that was been helping is a heating pad.

I agree with everyone else, the shoulder pain sounds like gas. After my revision of sleeve to bypass, the shoulder pain was unbearable. For me, walking did not help my shoulder pain. For others, it does help, so definitely give walking a try. My shoulder pain lasted for 2 stinkin' weeks....it was bad. Was so glad when it finally went away.

So sorry to hear about the staple issue....hope you feel better soon, hang in there. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
