  1. Funny I should come across this topic today. I had gastric bypass 11/29 and am scheduled for gallbladder removal Friday. I'm praying all goes well for both of us.
  2. Hi, I'm glad you got a quick diagnosis. I went for a Hida scan today. Now the waiting begins.
  3. I was having similar experiences. Feeling the sensation of food getting stuck or not being able to swallow pulls the same. I mentioned it to my nutritionist and Dr. and he scheduled a endoscopy. They did a balloon dilation. Feeling a lot better now although I now have two additional medications to take. Not to scare anyone but always err on the side of caution and let your Dr. know soonest.
  4. Medstar St. Mary’s has a support meeting the second Saturday of the month at 10 that’s really active. Medstar Southern Md has their meeting the first Monday of the month at 7 in Brandywine.
  5. I’m in the same boat. I broke down and purchased a heated throw to use at work and Wear a sweater around the house. I blamed it on my lack of thyroid but it actually may be the weight loss.
  6. I did this exact same thing yesterday. I'm two weeks postop and pushed myself way too far. I have to learn that although I'm feeling better I still have to take it easy. Lesson learned. We've had major abdominal surgery. Good luck with your journey.
  7. I’m a week post op and I have side pain. Called Dr and they advised it was gas and to keep moving and sipping.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll find the mints and continue with everything else. At least I’m not alone.
  9. Congratulations on your diet progression. I had GB surgery 11/29 and am still on liquids. My Dr office provided samples of Unjury soup packets. I’ve had the chicken noodle and it’s really tasty. Good luck with your journey. I’ll follow you Since we have close surgery dates. BTW-how do you add your stats on the left?
  10. I’m not sure this is the correct venue but here goes...has anyone experienced “bad breath” while on the liquid pre and post op diet? If so, what’s the best remedy? Sugar free gum or mints? Brushing lasts for only a few hours. My family greatly appreciates your answers. Thanks kindly!
  11. I’m 4 days post op. It’s been challenging but I’m pushing through. I had diarrhea as well. Called Dr office and they changed one of my meds. Good to go now.
  12. Inova Fair Oaks has one. I don’t attend due to the distance but you may find it’s what you’re looking for.
  13. Feb - First Dr Visit. He recommended RNY vs sleeve due to reflux and prior lap band. So I didn’t go back because I really wanted the sleeve. Feb - June Researhed RNY, started monthly support meetings, sleep study, chest X-ray, upper GI tests completed. July - came to terms with Dr recommendation. Decided on RNY. Started water aerobics and low carb diet consistently. July -Sep - three months group nutrition visits and evidence of weight loss on my own. Oct - Nov- Met with surgeon three times, nutritionist three times, blood tests, psych, and exercise therapist consultations. Nov - two week liver shrink diet / two week liquid diet. Nov 29 -RNY Approval thru Aetna was two weeks. Good luck with your journey.
