Just had and endoscopy and it reads acute gastritis anyone else and what's this mean?Stomach is super sore.Hope this doesn't stop my surgery 8/29

It just means the lining of your stomach in inflamed. You may need to modify your diet and start an antacid or ppis. Stay away from spicy foods, alcohol, acidic foods. I had gastritis and still was able to get my surgery.

Thanks did you have to take any antibiotics?

Nope it's not an infection just inflammation

And mine was diagnosed with this condition December 2017 and I am going strong#

My test came back no bacteria!

It might change your potential surgery depending on how bad, but they'll let you know. I was diagnosed with Grade 4 Esophagitis when I had my upper endo when they were checking to make sure the Lap Band didn't erode, since this was above the band and would be resolved with the bypass, it wasn't an issue for my situation.
