I love my coffee. Will I be saying goodbye to my 3x daily habit - well habit that I really enjoy? Or can it become part of my fluids?? I have milk..so protein? dreaming?

After six months I went back to one cup a day. Remember coffee is a diuretic. You should drink 64 oz's of liquids a day. Too much coffee and you'll be urinating it all away.

I just don't count caffeinated beverages toward my total. Since I'm over 100 oz. every day, I don't worry about it. You will be strongly encouraged to give up caffeine before surgery. If you can handle the switch to decaf, you've got it made. Decaf does count toward your 64 oz.

I use to be the same way. Afterwards I would have one cup a day or every other day because I took in so many fluids to offset the coffee dehydration. Shortly after I switched to decaf and surprisingly have no regrets and now it counts towards my fluids?
I drink regular coffee with sugar free creamer along with 64oz of water. I can’t do decaf lol.

Coffee is allowable according to my nutritionist.

Word to the wise - detox slowly before your procedure. I didn't and had an inexplicable headache every afternoon in hospital, my only true pain post-op. They were giving me endone it was so shitty. Day three a nurse had a lightbulb moment, gave me a Panadol+caffeine tablet and POOF headache gone. They detoxed me over a few days at home and my nutritionist asked I keep it reasonable. She recommends four single shot espresso coffees a day max, but as I'm married to a US citizen and we sometimes have black drip she mentioned in the US the drip coffee is stronger due to steeping and volumes so she asked I keep those to two 12oz a day.

I drink espresso and soy milk flat whites. they count toward my calcium and protein macros.

I mix my protein powder in small amount of cold water then add my regular coffee!
