Hey everyone! I have been a part of these forums for awhile now, but haven’t posted yet. I was getting a little discouraged waiting for my approval from insurance and waiting to get my surgery date. So I was using these posts to get me through! I’m so thankful for everyone who told their stories and asked their questions! I finally got my surgery date yesterday!!!! Whoo whoo!! July 2nd it is!! I’m so excited! Also shocked to know that i don’t have a pre op diet however I will be doing my own version of one for 2 weeks! I can’t wait for this new life! Anyways, thanks for listening!! Any great advice for what to expect would be great! ?

  • Advice, if you don't have a scale and are looking for one, get one that does body fat as well, so many times people only track weight and get frustrated because they are in a stall or gained a little.

Thanks! It definitely has been a process! I actually started at a different hospital, got through the entire process and was about to get my date when I found out my insurance doesn’t cover it at that

I hope this doesn't happen often, I'll never be able to change my profile pic LOL

You’ll be able to change it. We just have to pay attention to the numbers in the name ?

On your way to July 2nd! Are you on a liquid liver'-shrinking diet before your surgery. Oh I know you must be starting to get more excited! I still haven't got a firm date, thinking middle-ish, my son keeps telling me to keep the faith but down deep I fear another roadblock or something bad happening. I want this so bad, maybe more than they want to perform it? We will get through this together and celebrate on the. other side of surgery, I have to tie a big knot in the end of that rope I've been hanging from and hold on for all I'm worth!

I’m so so excited! It’s just around the corner! I actually do not have to do a preop liquid diet for my program however I decided to do one myself. I have heard from others on this site that those who have the liquid diet before end up transitioning easier. It is definitely more difficult than I thought. Being at work with everyone enjoying their snacks and chocolate has made it worse, but I’m sticking to it and I’m going to get through it! I’m anxious but so ready! Time went by so fast! And you are going to be right behind me!! I felt the same way, That I was going to miss something or something is going to stop my process! But nothing is and nothing will for either of us! I just had my preop class today and even got my soap for the night before and day of shower! That some how made it seem so real!! I can’t wait for you to join me in this process! We will help each other along the way! ??
I wonder what OSU will do wi5h me? Well, yeah that's true, but I am bringing up a point. IAM ALLERGIC TO HIBICLENS. The last time at my last surgery I looked a cross between sunburn and acid burn and hurt! It felt, like somebody gave,me a rundown with coarse sandpaper. I know there are nurses, who have, worked surgery and a lot of other smart people. What to,the do,with a person like me? Do,i get,my mound of tummy painted with betadine or what? Pretty sure I don't have an iodine sensitivity. would have shoed up,before now, if I had. Feel free to scratch, your head on my behalf!!?
