Upset, cannot get in water or protein

Recommended Posts

I had rny and gallbladder removal May 2nd. First two weeks... great! Water Protein in ,no problem.

I am 1 day shy of 1 month and doing and feeling miserable. Most days I can get in 35 oz of water approx. But protein is usually less than half or worse. I cannot take Vitamins because my stomach is empty and water is very hard to get in somedays, like today. My stomach hurt, I feel overly nauseous. Very close to tears. I typically have a high pain tolerance... but not for nausea. Acid reflux hurts and I am already up to two doses a day.

Waiting on doc office to get back to me. I dont know what to do.

Other people that have mentioned this ended up having a stricture. I haven't had surgery yet, but it's good you contacted your doc. Hang in there!

I dont believe it's a structure, luckily. I can tolerate food... not any issue with it going down etc.

Its the nauseating repulsed feeling Iget about eating that is getting in the way. I get intermittent stomach pain though.

Can you do sugar free popsicles until you hear from Doctor? At least get some Fluid in? Or is it too painful/nausea inducing? Crystal light pure (made with truvia or stevia...no aspartame)?

Try iced green tea, or warm Decaf tea diluted, or peppermint or ginger tea. Fluid is critical. Even though I had the sleeve, I had food aversion and it sucks, it does pass with some time. Smells bothered me too. The warm liquid before food may relax the muscles somewhat. Maybe you can get medication for nausea from your surgeon. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
