This is going to shock you...

I had Lap band revision to VSG on 2/26/18.

I decided before the procedure that I wouldn’t weigh after. And I haven’t. The only time I’ve weighed was at my postop visit, where I was down 17 lbs. that was early March.

Before surgery, I watched a YouTube video that suggested not to weigh and I thought about all the times I was happy - until I weighed. I read all the posts here panicking about a stall. And I decided the scale wasn’t for me.

*HATERS STEP OFF NOW. DO NOT POST A REPLY IF YOU THINK THIS IS STUPID, BECAUSE IM NOT SUGGESTING ANYTHING TO ANYONE.*

It’s been really peaceful. I’m down 4-5 sizes, I log all of my food, but I have no idea what I weigh and I’m am SOOOOO okay with that. I’ll be weighed when I go for my next doctors visit, I know....but for now, I’m at peace. I know I’m working what works for me and I’ll do it as long as it does....

Just wanted to throw this out there for others to consider....if it’s not for you, more power to you. Do what works for you. I’m doing the “me plan” and I’m happy and healthy and so not stressed out about my weight right now. Taking it a day at a time....

Hope everyone else is working what works for you and at peace with yourself or well on the way...

I like your style. I think I wanna try this. I am addicted to the scale and it is so stressful. I'm doing well, but the need to check the scale several times a day is a bit much. I want to start weigh

This is great. I hate how sometimes I’m in a good mood and I step on the scale for my weekly weigh in and if it’s not what I’m expecting, or what I need it to be for my surgeons next goal then my mood

I can't giver it up yet, but the concept seems really smart to me.

I am just the opposite, I weigh myself daily to keep on track. In my mind it is easier to lose 1 lbs than 5 lbs if I gain any. I am l year out and down 85.5 lbs. I am at my goal weight of 115lbs at 5'2" and couldn't be any happier. Do what is best for you[emoji4]

Yes! You stated this so eloquently. I'm not going to weigh in prior to my 2-week follow-up and then after that I think I'll reserve weigh-ins for once or twice a month. (At my weight it will be awhile before clothes stop fitting so that won't be a good guide for me.) I did the obsessive naked post-BM don't-drink-any-water daily morning weigh-ins for almost two years and it was exhausting and depressing especially when you knew you did EVERYTHING right and the scale wouldn't budge.

As bari patients we have a program to follow - hydrate, walk, eat nutritious whole foods in small quantities. If we do that, we cannot fail.

So long, scale!

Well said.

I've been without my scale since Saturday and it's driving me crazy. ?
