I confess....2018

The I confess post is my absolute favorite, but you don't see it anymore in the feed. So I'd like to get one going again.

I confess that I had a kid's size movie theater popcorn last weekend. And I loved every kernel.

I confess that I bought a full length mirror because I'm becoming more vain.

I confess that I still wear larger clothes because it makes me feel thinner

I confess that.... *CRINGE* I look at larger people differently now. I used to empathize, but now I think to myself..."GET OFF YOUR BUTT!"

I cheated on mine with a fountain diet dr. pepper. And mmmmm it was good. I remember thinking, it was going to be that or a Big Mac from McDonalds. Glad I stuck with the soda. It was weird too, because I had given soda up for 3 months prior to that.... SMH.

At least urs was still a liquid lol!
I figured the pizza wasn't going to make a difference in the size of my liver this close to surgery....i hope!

I remember I did SOOOO much research trying to convince myself that I could eat something and it wouldn't hurt me. I researched it so much one night, that my craving went away. I'd stay course. You will be glad you did.

I've stayed course until today and the pizza broke me...my surgery is tomorrow, I have to be at the hospital at 8am [emoji2]

do you have a bowel prep? The only reason I ask is because you may want to do some enemas. My surgeon required clear liquids the day before surgery because they want to make sure your bowel is completely empty. A pizza the day before surgery could derail you. I've heard people getting their surgeries postponed.

For safety, you need to make the surgeon aware of this since if your stomach is not completely empty at the time of surgery it could lead to some serious complications like peritonitis. You might want to check with them to see if you need to take some Mag Citrate or something to clean you out. If you are having bypass it could be even more serious.

They told me at my preop appt to do the mag citrate the afternoon before surgery.

I was supposed to do clear liquids the day before surgery.

Confession .... I ate a burger that morning.

I was also doing the magnesium citrate bowel prep in the afternoon, and figured I'd be cleared out anyway.

I'm sure you will be OK. I'd ask your surgeon if there is any doubt. But congrats, and good luck tomorrow!

I confess I cheat eating snack crackers or hot Cheetos. I'm a month and a half out and I'm still on liquids because I wasn't getting my fluids in. I confess I'm jealous of my husband and kids because I cook them a yummy dinner and I drink mine or eat a pickle pop. I love seeing people eat especially what I've cooked, but I'm sad I can't even eat tuna

I'm 3 months out, my surgery was 2/12/18

Any complications from the burger?

Did they say they found traces of beef in there?

Lol, no complications. From the mag citrate, I was definitely emptied out.

Also, I felt comfortable going a little rogue. My ex is a Gastroenterology, and when he read my preop instructions he thought that was a bit overly cautious and told me not to expect to hear from him that day cause he knew I'd be hangry, lol.
