How soon after surgery did you start driving again?

I drove a week later.

2 weeks after, but could probably do that sooner.

My doctors asks for a week, just because turning the trunk of your body maybe painful. Plus the pain medication. He told me seeings I live on pain Meds and use to them I may not have to wait a whole week. But I’m sure if I’m taking extras I won’t be driving.

Surgery Tuesday. Discharged Wednesday. Drove Friday. My doc said as soon as I was off pain meds I could drive. I didn't take any meds after I left the hospital. Didn't have anywhere to go on Thursday. Friday went grocery shopping for my family and made them carry all the bags inside when I got home (10 pound weight lifting restriction) and used one of the "helpers" my grocery store offers to put the bags in your car for you.

Planning for no more than 1 week without driving, I have to drive to school 7 days post-op. I’d prefer sooner but will see how I feel.
