I've been dealing with some neck and shoulder pain. I want to use Aleve (Naproxen), but it is a blood thinner. I want to know if anyone began taking pain meds of their choice and when after surgery or is Tylenol the only way to go?

Only Tylenol per my doc .. nsaids can cause ulcer in new stomach .. how I need nsaids but afraid to use

I have been battling synovitis of my knee since one week post op. Normal course of treatment is oral steroids and NSAIDS. My surgeon said no to every anti inflammatory med. I waited until week 6, when he was finally ok with a cortisone injection. He felt very strongly about the increased risk of a GI bleed with the new sleeve. I'm now 10 weeks out and still have swelling, just doing PT now. I've really missed my Motrin!

I, too, would stick with tylenol for now, and ask your doc about a prescription for pain that isn't going to bother your tummy.
