After two day stay I am at home on my comfy couch. Pain was pretty bad and moving in and out of bed was excruciating. I did not want to use the stronger pain med and looking back it would have made a difference. Did not sleep at all first night and second night just dozed. Will get pics on soon of before and will get photos from surgeon at my first post op visit this week.

Went to first post op appointment and things went great
All drains pulled and dressings are gone except where drains were
Put me in a compression garment
Pain is okay but pulling drains was rough
I had to order another compression Capri and should be here on Thursday
When it comes I will be able to take a shower
Have to have another garment to change into after shower
He seems rather pleased at this time ?

Post op day 6. No pain but still having pinching and extreme tightness and still awaiting a shower. Nothing taken for pain but planning on taking something before planned shower this afternoon. I am anticipating pain removing garment and with putting another on.

Took my first shower since surgery and it felt great! Got a little lightheaded so definitely recommend having help the first time. Dear friend has a daughter in nursing school and they came over to help. Going to use her help again for the next one too.

Hope you are well

@jkppt How are you doing now?

Doing much better. Went to surgeon Tuesday for second post op visit and all removable sutures were taken out. I can drive as I have been off pain meds since last Thursday. Am allowed to stand straight but still working on that. All the incisions pinch and pull when I try to stand straight. Starting to take short walks outside. Still have a great deal of swelling all over but that is to be expected.

Surgery was 6 hours and they took off 4.5 lbs of extra skin. I have 2 incisions groin to knee inner thigh and one long one all the way around my pelvis. He said that I was on an accelerated healing time table. I originally had 6 drains but they pulled 2 at the hospital and the other 4 at my first post op visit which is about a week ahead of schedule. I only hope there are no major bumps at this this time.

Thanks for asking!
