Lower Back Problems

Did anyone else experience lower back AFTER losing a lot of weight?

I have lost over 80 lbs and I did not have back issues when I was heavier. Now it's excruciating while in bed and when I wake up. It's sore all day and when I walk or stretch it will spasm randomly. If I take a step off the curb or step funny it will feel like something pinched and like my leg is going to give out.

I have heard that when someone loses a lot of weight, the spine readjusts to the weight loss, and can cause pinched nerves and pain while it's getting used to it. Also, people can start to have trouble with their weight bearing joints (knees, hips, ankles)

You may want to check with your doctor. Maybe a realignment can help with the low back pain and pinched nerves.

I had horrible back pain 3 weeks after surgery. My doc gave me some muscle relaxers which helped. I'm completely pain free now at 5 weeks out.
