3months post op

Hi all,

I so new to this... decided to change my life and had a gastric sleeve done feb this year. I have lost a total of 46lbs but I'm having issues when it comes to what i see in the mirror. Weird right ? ! I have lost 46lbs but im having a hard time seeing what everyone else sees. Has this happnd to anyones else?

Yes !


Yes I think it happens to most if not all of us at one time or another. We do not feel any different, and we see ourselves so much that we do not notice the change, but people who do not see us on a regular basis notice right away. It is a bit strange to get use too but we are always the last to notice changes in ourselves.

It was that way for me during the first few months. I still have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror now because I don't recognize the person looking back at me.

I am having surgery tomorrow. I bought a food journal and in the front I recorded my weight and measurement of my chest, neck, abdomen, and one thigh. I plan to record measurements once a month. Also, if you have any old pictures to compare that may help you to see the difference.
