BCBSIL PPO

So just called my insurance for a status update on my pre authorization and was first told it was approved, then the representative said it shows approved in one spot and denied in the other so she will have to call me back after she can clear that up. I am so upset and nervous I hate not knowing what is going on! Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

Oh, no! My surgeon's office just submitted my paperwork to the insurance company on Friday so I'm anxiously awaiting my approval now. So I can only imagine how you feel knowing that you've been approved but could also be denied.

In my opinion, if you were automatically denied, there's no way you would have an approval marked on your chart as well, so there must be a mix-up or question about something in your records. Here's hoping they reply to you soon with positive news!!

I didn't even think about it that way, I hope it works out! I still have not heard anything yet, I'm so impatient lol Good luck to you with your i insurance as well!

Finally heard back and I am approved!!! Now just need to go into the Doctors office to sign consents and schedule!!! I know it will be for March because my insurance ends at the end of the month (I turn 26 on March 27 so I fall off my parents insurance plan) I am soo excited :)

Bcbsil is driving me nuts. They approved my surgery on 2/24 but still haven't mailed the approval letter and my doc's office won't schedule until they receive it. Ughh

Apparently, it takes up to 2 weeks from approval for them to "generate" the letter to be mailed. And until the medical review board generates the letter they won't fax or put anything in writing. It's so annoying.
