Lent and Fasting/No meat

So this year Im trying to figure out how to follow my normal traditions and give up something I love for Lent (Ive decided on potatoes in any form and swearing) and how to fast/have no meat on certain days.

Growing up we did Fasting all day Fridays and Ash Wednesday, and no meat at all not even fish. Im thinking I can do protien shakes but im not sure if this is the wisest/healthiest.

Im about 2 and a half months post op RNY on Dec20th

Any tips?

Can you eat eggs? I love tofu. You can get some great recipes with lots of flavor.

That having been said, fasting a few times will not adversely affect your overall health.
