I don't know about the Protein shots. Could you be Lactose intolerant now? Sometimes that happens to people after surgery. Have you tried Fairlife Milk? 8oz has 13 grams of protein and you can put in sugar free Hershey's syrup to change the taste.

I use them but not before mixing with Water. I usually mix one with about 24 oz of water. If you drink it by itself it's pretty nasty tasting. I am not a fan on lactose so this is a good alternative.

I cannot stomach Protein shakes and it took me about 4 weeks and a ton of different brands to find what I like.

Atkins makes a drink called Lift Protein, they are thin like a Water, come in 3 flavors and the taste is not bad at all. They have 20 g of protein, no fat and no sugar. They have been a life saver as my nut wants me to get in 90-100 grams a day at 6wks post op
