Anyone up out there? My surgery is at 12 noon tomorrow and I'm getting nervous!

I wish I was like all these posters who were feeling great a few days out of surgery. Today is post op day 11 for me and I feel horrible. The stinging pain in my indentation is enough to take my breath away.

I know just what you mean. Tomorrow is my 3week post op and I too feel like ****. The surgical sites are not painful to me any longer. I haven't been on pain meds since day 3. Not because I didn't have pain but because I threw up every time I took it. The meds they gave me to keep that in check didn't work. I've been in the clinic 3x for fluids because I just can't hold enough down. I have hunger pains and when I eat or drink I get the gas pain that as you described as taking the breath out of me.
The trauma of surgery is no joke and the body needs time to heal. It's wonderful so many are doing great. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I know we will be there too but the journey isn't as easy for all of us that's for sure.

Did someone just say pizza??? I wish I had pizza flavored jello! Day 9 of 12 on liquid diet. I'm so hungry, I could eat the box the pizza comes in!!!

Me too and happily.

I'm still up. My surgery is in the morning. Nervous doesn't explain how I feel. I'm excited, scared to death, nervous, and happy all at the same time.

Did see your profile traeleo...what's your starting weight if you don't mind me asking? Mine was 316 but I'm down to 296 with this preop diet! Still need to drop a 100lbs

Good luck to all of us 24thers! I'm calming down a bit... We got this! I have to be at the hospital at 4am tomorrow morning for my surgery at 6! Best of luck everyone!! Sending healing vibes!

Officially on the losers bench! Had surgery at 7:30 this morning I am doing surprisingly well not to much pain thank God [emoji1374] I did have quite a bit of nausea though!

Where is my fellow 4/24 crew?! Update when you can everyone!!! Wishing everyone well

Lost most of the hospital weight I gained on IV fluids.

And Day 4 I don't really feel like I need any pain meds anymore.

As expected 4 days out it's mostly just a struggle to get an adequate amount of protein and vitamins. I sort of modified my plan since I have 2 doses of medication per day to add to the 3 doses of calcium separated with the MV and iron all independently.

My surgery is Saturday April 29th! Im so excited but omg I am SOOO nervous!!! I opted for a saturday surgery so I don't have to miss the extra work. Luckily I have a light duty management job so I sit behind a computer all day.

You will do great! And you might surprise yourself - I only missed three full days of work. Then I went back to work for half days and worked from home. Good luck to you. :)

Just do what your doc says - drink your ounce of water/liquids every fifteen minutes while you are awake, move around as much as possible, take naps when you can, have sugar free popsicles on hand and be sure to take your anti-nausea medication every four hours. AKA do what your doc says and hopefully you should do well.

Good luck!! I am on Thursday the 27th. I'm on spring break right now and have no shifts scheduled. I got back May 4th. I hope I gave myself enough time.

I fly out on Friday and come home Monday. I'm going back to work tuesday so I think I'll be fine. I did a lot of preparing for this and even bought a mini fridge for my office for my protein shakes. I'm hoping now that no one sits next to me on the plane...you know how that is....
