Did anyone develop a cough following surgery? I have a chronic cough that has been addressed multiple ways unsuccessfully. My throat is often irritated and thus the cough-- I'm not actually ill. I've been treated with steam treatments, steroids, breathing exercises, numbing spray, and nothing works. I've upped my exercise schedule thinking that if I work my lungs harder it will stop, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case.

How long have you had this cough? What type of cough is it? (Dry, wet,phelghmy)?

Dry cough, developed it after surgery, six months ago

I assume they've checked to see if it might be caused by GERD?

Right-- they don't think it's a GERD issue. It's not the worst thing ever but it is annoying. It's worse when I exercise. I think I tend to breathe shallowly when I'm not exercising and wonder if that's a factor. My regular doctor said that the cough reminds him of the chronic cough that some HBP meds cause, but I don't take those meds.
